three by ~danieljhobbs

two and the sun-light leaks through, your open windowtwo by ~danieljhobbs
leaving a patch on your lap, of my distorted shadow
and you listen to the music with your pretty eyes closed
you're mother said "please, turn it down child", but you opposed
she made you some food so you wouldn't get hungry
and she gave you a kiss, and told you to enjoy the journey
and he shook my hand and told me to never ever let you get lonely
and i promised him that i wouldn't, i promised him i wouldn't
and we left the sand in the wind as we left the yard
you kissed me on the cheek and squeezed my hand hard
as we entered the road you looked at me
and started to bite your bottom

one i never lost that feelingone by ~danieljhobbs
that feeling inside of my body
the one that makes me tingle
when you're around, or when you were unable
to see me
as we battled through the leaves
at the end of the garden, through the trees
as you leaned into me
you went all quiet
and then you sang like a whole choir
and we stared up at the steeple
while the church it filled with people
the voices moulded up through the roof like angels
and they all sang in tune
i unpack my lies
onto our shared bed
and my hands run up your thighs
and you stopped me and said
'i didnt like the way you kissed me then'
the hushed words you used
when you said
